Hardware Design for Medical Image Enhancement

EasyChair Preprint 11609

6 pagesDate: December 23, 2023

Abstract

In medicine, the images have become essential elements for establishing a good diagnostic. Therefore, the reconstruction and visualization of these medical images refers to a set of techniques, which make it possible to obtain information on the internal and external structure of an object against the background of an image. However, the large amount of data in medical image requires real-time processing. The aim of this article is to initiate a new research theme concerning the implementation of a few blocks for the reconstruction and visualization of medical images on a dedicated architecture FPGA (Field Programmable Gate array).

A high-level hardware description language VHDL (VHSIC: Hardware Description Language (Very High Speed Integrated Circuits)) describes the different blocks of the hardware architecture. For this, we used CAD tools (Computer-Aided Design).

Keyphrases: Binarization, CAD tools., FPGA, Luminance, VHDL, dynamic inversion, medical image
