Exploring the Spread of COVID-19 Misinformation on Twitter

Abstract

In this study, we investigated the spread of misinformation by analyzing the authors, content and propagation of infodemic on Twitter. Using data from over 92 professional fact-checking organizations united as the International Fact-Checking Network (IFCN) from January to July 2020, we analyzed 1,500 false and partially false tweets that spread misinformation.
