This work develops and implements an SST-based power electronic converter to integrate renewable energy systems into the grid. SST is built with an LCL filter, an inverter, and two active bridges (DAB). Matlab/Simpower is used to design the proposed SST-based system and associated controls. Utilizing SST and a medium-frequency transformer expands the control options for a high-power converter by decreasing transformer size and expense. Keyphrases: Inverter, LCL filter, dual active bridge, solid state transformer
