OA can cause 80% of elderly people to have difficulty walking, bending or standing. The prevalence of osteoarthritis in Indonesia reaches 24.7%. However, currently available drugs for OA, such as nonsteroidal anti- inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and glucocorticoids, are thought to carry undesirable side effects. This study aims to examine the characterization and effectiveness of the Micro Parem Patch as an alternative therapy for osteoarthritis. Based on the FTIR test, the results show that the the results of the dissolution test and Swelling Characterization Micro Parem Patch can dissolve in the body in an average of 4 hours. Based on in-vivo tests, Micro Parem Patch had the highest analgesic effect on F2 (63%) and the lowest average writhing response (4.33). Then, Micro Parem Patch also has an anti-inflammatory effect with the optimum dose for anti-inflammatory osteoarthritis in F2 (30mg lempuyang and 40mg bangle) with an anti- inflammatory potency of 69.31%.
