Download PDFOpen PDF in browserDigital Competencies of Teachers in the Teaching and Teaching and Learning Process in Secondary Basic Education Básica MediaEasyChair Preprint 1016611 pages•Date: May 15, 2023AbstractIn recent years, educational systems have been part of great transformations, and even more so with respect to the way in which pedagogical practice is carried out in the various classroom contexts, in that sense, digital competences arise from the requirements of today's society to innovate pedagogical processes, towards an updated and transformative education. The general objective of this research was to analyze the importance of digital competences in the teaching and learning process. The methodology used was qualitative-quantitative with emphasis on non-experimental design, with a descriptive type of research, the methods used were: analytical, synthetic, descriptive and hermeneutic. It was carried out in the Educational Unit "Pío Jaramillo Alvarado" in the city of Loja, in order to measure the degree to which teachers and students apply digital skills. For this, a non-probabilistic sample was selected, composed of 5 teachers of Basic Secondary Education and 58 students of seventh grade, with the purpose of collecting data, three instruments were applied: a survey for teachers and students, in addition, an observation sheet of the classroom environment. Finally, it is concluded that digital competences facilitate teamwork, as long as they are used responsibly, thus achieving significant learning in pedagogical subjects.
