Introduction
The year 2026 marks the sixth edition of the International Multidisciplinary Information Technology and Engineering Conference (IMITEC) as a dynamic, development-driven, and collaboration-focused research platform. It is scheduled to be hosted by the Unit for Data Science and Computing, School of Computer Science and Information Systems, Faculty of Natural and Agricultural Sciences (FNAS), North-West University (NWU), in partnership with the Department of Information Technology, Faculty of Information and Communication Technology (FoICT) and in collaboration with the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
Call for Papers
Authors are invited to submit original, unpublished research for possible presentation at the conference. Submissions featuring creative, new, transformative, and innovative ideas in the field of Computing, Engineering, and Technology to assist and address socio-economic-political platforms in traversing the digital age are more than welcome. In this regard, papers are solicited in the following tracks, but not limited to the following areas:
Track 1: Artificial Intelligence, Robotics and Embedded Systems
Track 2: Data Science, Data Engineering, and Big Data Analytics
Track 3: Cyber Security, Data Privacy, Network and System Security
Track 4: Power Systems and Renewable Energy Technologies
Track 5: Smart Grid and Energy Management Systems
Track 6: Internet of Things (IoT) and Smart Systems
Track 7: Information and Communication Technology for Development (ICT4D)
Review and Publication
All papers will undergo a double-blind peer-review process to ensure high quality and relevance, contributing to engaging and thought-provoking sessions. All accepted and presented papers will be published in IMITEC 2026 proceedings and submitted for inclusion in the IEEE Xplore Digital Library subject to meeting IEEE Xplore’s scopes and quality requirements, thereby ensuring global visibility and
acceptability.
