15th Annual Undergraduate Research Conference on Applied Computing

INTRODUCTION
Zayed University is pleased to host the 15th Annual Conference on Undergraduate Research on Applied Computing (URC2024) on April 17th and 18th, 2024. This conference aims to promote undergraduate research activity at educational institutions in the UAE, other Gulf countries, and the rest of the world by providing a forum for students to present their work and interact with other young researchers, faculty, and industrial leaders. Topics of interest include anything to do with computing.
The conference seeks to establish a platform where students and faculty can showcase their research concepts and engage with fellow emerging researchers from educational institutions throughout the Arab world, as well as distinguished faculty members and IT industry leaders. Consequently, if you are an undergraduate student currently engaged in a computing-related final-year project, we enthusiastically encourage you to submit a one-page abstract for participation in a lightning talk, live demonstration, poster exhibition, or even a comprehensive research paper for a dedicated track. Every submission will undergo a thorough evaluation by esteemed faculty members, who will subsequently offer constructive feedback to the authors. Beyond the student presentations, the conference agenda will also encompass presentations from academia and industry experts. We invite you to join us in presenting your project and expanding your professional network.
CONFERENCE THEME
This year's conference theme is "AI for Sustainable Economy" and we invite all participants to submit their work related to this theme. Whether you explore energy efficiency, smart cities, environmental monitoring, or any aspect where AI contributes to building a sustainable economy, your submissions are welcome and encouraged.

CONFERENCE FORMAT
Submissions are welcome in four categories. Participants will have a chance to get published in the e-book of abstracts or IEEE Xplore and get a chance to win one of the presentation awards.
- Lightning Presentations: present your research project in a short oral presentation style.
- Live Demos: present a novel application, system, or tool you have fully developed – a live demo of how it works.
- Poster Presentations: present your project in an exhibit-style setting with a poster.
- Special Tracks: submit a full paper to a special track. See the conference website.
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
Prospective authors are invited to submit a one-page abstract describing their final year project or ongoing research project work OR a full paper to a special track. Please follow the following guidelines:
