CALL FOR PAPERS
Shaping the future landscape of WIL
The international conference on Work-Integrated Learning WIL25 will take place in Oslo, Norway September 22 – September 24, 2025 in Oslo, Norway. The conference will bring together researchers, academics, practitioners and industry partners from all parts of the globe, and function as a meeting place for presenting research and case studies, attending workshops, exchanging know-how, as well as building new relationships and strengthening existing networks. The conference is hosted by Kristiania University College (Norway) and University West (Sweden).
The overall conference theme is: Shaping the Future Landscape of WIL. Relevant themes include, but are not limited to:
- Various dimensions of WIL - learning integrated into work
- WIL pedagogy - integrating experiences from education and work life
- Different WIL pedagogies - WIL models beyond traditional placements
- Quality WIL experiences in programs with high number of students
- Development of WIL theoretical terminology and frameworks
- Work-Integrated Education (WIE) as educational approach
- Integrating WIL principles across entire degree programs
- Institutional structures and policies in implementation of WIL

SUBMISSION
The WIL25 Conference Committee is inviting the submission of papers. Deadline: 14 March 2025.
Paper formats
- Conference paper, 2000 words, with oral presentations (15 minutes, plus 5 minutes questions). Submitted papers will be peer reviewed by the Conference Scientific Committee. All accepted papers will be published in conference proceeding.
- Special Issue full article, 6000-8000 words. Authors of selected papers will be invited to submit an extended and revised version of their paper publication in a special issue of the peer-reviewed scientific journal - Current Issues in Work-Integrated Learning (CIWIL)
Important dates
- Submission of conference paper 2000 word with oral presentation from1 December 2024. Deadline: 14 March 2025
- Proceeding paper review - April
- Paper accepted – 2 May 2025
- Deadline for final version conference paper – 15 August 2025
- Conference registration opens 14 March and closes 15 August (Early bird registration closes 27 June 2025)
- Full article submission for Special Issue CIWIL opens 25 September.Deadline: 1 December 2025
Author guidelines
At least one author/presenter must be registered for the conference by 15 August 2025.All presentations must be made in person at the conference (not online).
