Call for Papers
The CentralCHRIE Conference is accepting submissions. We would like to invite educators, industry professionals, and graduate students submit poster abstracts on research topics, industry issues, or education practices. Best Posters will be awarded for each track.
Submission deadline: September 29th, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. EDT
Call for Papers
- Participants are invited to submit abstracts for the following three tracks.
- Track 1: Teaching
- Track 2: Completed Research
- For track 1 and 2, submissions must be based on original ideas that have not been published.
- Track 3: Research in Progress
- This track welcomes research in progress. Data analysis and results are not required but the manuscript needs to include clear study objectives, review of key literature, and a methodology section.
- Based on the theme of this year’s conference, we invite submissions on the following topics: Technology Adoption & Application (e.g., Smart Tourism, Digital Marketing) and Sustainability (i.e., Environmental, Social, and Economic) in the areas of Consumer Behavior, Destination Marketing, Education, Business Analytics, Human Resources & Leadership, Lodging Management & Service Quality, Meetings & Events, and Restaurant & Food Service.
- Once accepted, at least one of the authors needs to present a 3-minute presentation followed by a 3-minute Q&A session at the virtual conference.
- Abstracts are to be submitted online via the following EasyChair link
- Best Paper Awards will be selected by the Paper Review Committee for each track based on outstanding merits.
Submission Guidelines
- Authors’ title, names, and affiliation must be on a separate Title Page. Author names and affiliations MUST NOT be included in any part of the Abstract.
- Track 1 & 2 submissions must be original and should not be published or under review for publication elsewhere. Track 3 submissions need to include clear study objectives, review of key literature, and a methodology section.
- Submissions must be saved in a PDF document and uploaded to the EasyChair system.
- Once the submission is accepted, at least one author must register and present at the conference.
- Authors will retain full copyright to their work.
Absract Formatting Guidelines
Abstract:
- Word counts: 1,500 words max in English, including tables/figures, but excluding references.
- Margins should be 1-inch on all sides.
- Font: Times Roman, 12 pt.
- All text will be double spaced.
- Tables, figures, and references must not exceed two (2) pages in total.
- Citations and the reference list should follow the APA style.
Accepted Studies:
- Presentation preparation
- All accepted studies are required to prepare a PowerPoint (or similar) presentation for the virtual conference.
- Presentation time allocation
- The total time for each presentation, including the Q&A session, is 5-6 minutes.

- The specific presentation format and additional instructions will be announced shortly.
Best Paper Evaluation Criteria
Best Papers will be selected by the Paper Review Committee based on JHTR’s reviewer rubric. Below are the categories included in the reviewer rubric.

- August 26, 2024 – EasyChair online submission opens
