8th BR-SCS:Bioinformatics Training and Education: 2024 Salvador Bahia, Brazil, June 11, 2024

The ISCB Regional Student Group Brazil organizes the 8th Brazilian Student Council Symposium (BR-SCS). The BR-SCS is the most prestigious symposium in Bioinformatics & Computational Biology field for students and early career researchers in Brazil. Participants will have the opportunity to present their work, build a network within the computational biology community and develop critical soft skills in an environment that fosters the exchange of ideas and knowledge.

Submission Guidelines

1. Your work should be topical to bioinformatics and computational biology.
2. Unpublished works are encouraged, but we accept both your own unpublished and published work (but has never been submitted to ISCB Student Council Symposium before).
3. Keep the abstract title as short as possible.
4. The abstract should not exceed 350 words and must be structured into three separate sections:
   1. Background: the context and purpose of the study;
   2. Description: the methodology & main findings;
   3. Conclusions: brief summary and potential implications.
5. Your abstract must not contain your title/position or personal information (e.g., affiliation). These details will be collected through the submission system.
6. The presentation is individual (having multiple co-authors is okay, but only the presenting author will get the presentation/award certificate. All authors' information will be included in the abstract book)
7. One person can deliver one presentation only (not more than one). 
8. The presenting author must be a part of the original research work. 
9. Submitters may choose to have their submission reviewed for “only talk”, “talk & poster,” or “poster only”. If you select “talk & poster” and are unsuccessful for a talk, your abstract will automatically be considered for a poster presentation. 
10. Please do not use abbreviations or references in the abstract.
